As first-timers to Burgundy, my family and I didn’t know what to expect. We knew we’d see wonderful views, eat delicious food and explore some amazing sights. But nothing could have prepared us for the sheer scale of our adventure. It felt like we packed so much into our holiday. It’s impossible to be bored, even when you have a young child in tow…

We were not only pleasantly surprised about how easy it was to drive in France – the back roads of Burgundy were a joy to travel on and easy to navigate.Meanwhile, even though I don’t speak much French and can get along with the very basics, we were met with a warm welcome wherever we went, from the locals to the fascinating people who showed us what Burgundy has to offer.

You won’t be disappointed.

Whether you are looking for beautiful countryside, history, adventure, gastronomy or relaxation the Burgundy Back-Roads have it all.

As a family with tween and teen sons it is important to find a great balance of activities to suit the whole family.  We took part in tree trekking, horse riding, and cookery lessons and visited the most beautiful fairy tale castles. We ate in delicious restaurants trying out new and exciting French delicacies and dishes.

Do we have a favourite experience? They were all wonderful for different reasons, making it the perfect trip. We can’t wait to return.
